BACKSTAGE 20180812 “The Man In Black With The White Stratocaster’s Back – 2018 Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow – Memories In Rock Tour And New Album”

Dear fashion & music lovers,

I wish you a beautiful and sunny summer Sunday!

After more then 20 years, our very own Ritchie Blackmore (finally) recorded a brand new rock track by the name of “Waiting For a Sign”.

After 10 studio albums with Blackmore’s Night (between 1997-2015), Ritchie felt nostalgic and made a surprising return to rock music with 3 concerts in 2016. Although those concerts received a mixed reactions from the fans, due to lack of pre-shows rehearsals and Ritchie surgery, it was good to see The Man In Black back in action with his white Strat. Last year another 4 concerts were played (better), recorded and were released on April the 6th 2018 under a name “Memories In Rock II”, a live album which includes this new track. Also we could see Ritchie performing live again with his latest installment of Rainbow with another five concerts in April:

2018-04-08 – Moscow, Russia

2018-04-11 – St. Petersburg, Russia
2018-04-13 – Helsinki, Finland
2018-04-18 – Berlin, Germany
2018-04-20 – Prague, Czech Republic

Rainbow (also known as Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow or Blackmore’s Rainbow) is a British rockband led by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, former legendary guitar hero of “DEEP PURPLE”. He was one of the founding members of DEEP PURPLE in 1968. Blackmore quit the band in 1974 to front his new group, Rainbow, active from 1975 until 1984, 1993 until 1997, and 2015 until present. They were originally established with Ronnie James Dio’s American rock band Elf, but after their first album, Blackmore fired the backing members and continued with Dio until 1979.

1979 Black Sabbath’s iconic front man Ozzy Osbourne’s regular use of alcohol and other drugs led to his dismissal from the band. He was replaced by Rainbow vocalist Ronnie James Dio.

He is credited with popularizing the “metal horns” hand gesture in metal culture and was known for his medieval-themed lyrics.

Three British musicians joined Rainbow in 1979 – new singer Graham Bonnet, keyboardist Don Airey and then-former Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover – and this line-up gave the band their commercial breakthrough with the single “Since You Been Gone”. Over the years Rainbow went through many personnel changes with no two studio albums featuring the same line-up. The singers Joe Lynn Turner and Doogie White followed Bonnet, and numerous backing musicians have come and gone.

A pioneer of power metal, the band’s early work primarily featured mystical lyrics with a neoclassical metal style, but went in a more streamlined, commercial direction following Dio’s departure from the group.

Rainbow were ranked No. 90 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. The band has sold over 28 million records worldwide, with 1,420,000 copies in the UK.

The bonus track of today includes Ritchie Blackmore’s most legendary guitar solo,, over decades generations of guitar players tried to play it.

Today’s second bonus track ( because it’s Sunday ) includes the world’s most famous guitar riff ever over half a century of heavy metal music. The song’s about a fire in the Casino Of Montreux / Switzerland,  where the annual legendary Jazz Festival takes place since decades. Take a guitar and play the riff, it’s as simple on the one hand as it’s brilliant on the other.

I wish you a relaxed Sunday and come back soon with a new story.

BACKSTAGE 20180810 “Billboard Top 100 – Week Of August 11th.”

“I Like It” is a song recorded by American rapper Cardi B with Puerto Rican recording artist Bad Bunny and Colombian singer J Balvin for her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy (2018). It was released on May 25, 2018 to radio stations through Atlantic Records as the fourth single from the album. “I Like It” was written by the three performers with Jordan Thorpe and Klenord Raphael, and produced by J. HIGHEST RANKING DEBUT OF THE WEEK.

BACKSTAGE 20180809 “New Album Releases August 2018”

Dear fashion & music lovers,

I wish you a happy Thursday morning!

Weekend’s coming closer and it’s time to have a look at the new albums released in this hot August and to select my 3 personal favorites.

Trophy Eyes released their new album “The American Dream” and reached this week the highest critic score of the reviewers.

To end an evolving trilogy of releases, Australia’s Trophy Eyes have given us ‘The American Dream’, the group’s strongest offering yet – an album packed tightly with massive choruses, intertwining melodies, and snap shots of a band sonically growing before our eyes.

The group have taken cues from a range of artists, whether it’s the combination of The Gaslight Anthem and U2 in ‘Something Bigger Than This’, or channeling the spirit of letlive. in ‘You Can Count Of Me’. The group have taken on a capricious attitude to their influences, and eschewed them towards their own brand of punk anthems.

Here’s the song “Friday Forever” from this album.

Travis Scott’s third album is unarguably his strongest to date. His skill as a curator helps sculpt a sticky, humid, psychedelic world with dazzling production and odd pleasures at every turn.

“Who put this shit together? I’m the glue” declares Travis Scott on Astroworld, and it’s hard to think of a more accurate summation of his aesthetic approach. The 26-year-old is an avatar for a generation of playlist-making curators who have positively embraced “creative” as a job title. He’s risen to mainstream rap prominence by way of pure tastemaking, exerting the au courant currency of borrowing exactly the right talent at exactly the right time since the hybrid hip-hop of his 2015 debut, Rodeo. Depending on a variety of factors—age, genre predilections, level of active investment in the myriad intersections between popular culture and social media—Scott’s artistic approach can come across as inspiring or infuriating, but it’s also proved undoubtedly successful.

Here’s “Stop Trying To Be God” The video was launched on YouTube on August 6th and reached already 5,5 Million video views until today.

Amanda Shires Creates a Complex World in "To the Sunset".

One of the highlights of Amanda Shires’ new album To the Sunset, “Break Out the Champagne” was inspired in part by an in-flight emergency on a plane. Shires turned potential death into a three-minute chunk of black humor, captured in the chorus: “Break out the champagne / Everybody look out below / Let’s get on with the shit show / Here goes a toast… adios!” The song swirls various personal calamities into a worldview. It would be easy enough to let an album cohere around a catchy sardonic vision, but Shires is no more willing to do that than she is to actually record an expected Americana album (as her work will likely be categorized). Instead, she puts together a complex vision of a complicated life, embedded in music drawing from various traditions into a single sound.

And here’ s the bonus track of today. Every morning after writing my blog from 3am to  4am CEST, I can see the sunrise through the window of my room and I send a “Thank You!” to the universe for the new day.

BACKSTAGE 20180808 “My Favorite French Chansons.”

Dear fashion & music lovers,

I wish you a fashionable Wednesday morning!

Today’ s story I want to dedicate to my favorite French chansons, music from the capital of fashion and home of FashionTV, Paris.

Chanson Française is the typical style of French music (chanson means “song” in French) and is still very popular in France. Some of the most important artists included: Édith Piaf, Juliette Greco, Mireille Mathieu, Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens, Georges Moustaki, Serge Reggiani, Gilbert Bécaud, Monique Serf (Barbara), Léo Feré, Charles Aznavour, Salvatore Adamo and Dalida plus the more art-house musicians like Brigitte Fontaine. Also during the 1950s one of the more representative of Montmartre cabaret singers was Suzanne Robert.

Today I’d like to present you my all time favorite French chansons with English translation of their wonderful lyrics.

Here’ s a chanson written by Georges Moustaki that I always used to play when it happened in my life that a women left me, and it always gave me very much new energy.

I prefer the interpretation by Serge Reggiani which is really legendary.

Original Title: “Ce soir mon amour”
Text: George Moustaki

This evening my love, I do not love you anymore
You are further than the distance between us
And even more absent because you are nowhere
More a stranger than the first to come along

This evening my love I do not look for you anymore
Among my memories at the bottom of my memory
I do not wait for you anymore on the platform of any station
I barely remember having waited for you there

I know that we were drinking wine after love
That our nights started when the day rose
Like a torrent of ebony your hair on your neck
And your hurt gaze when you make sheep eyes

This evening my love I do not cheat on you anymore
with that girl sleeping by my side
I was alone I asked her to stay
I’m alone very often and I get used to it

This evening my love I do not miss you anymore
I do not miss you. I miss loving
not being useless, inanimate
having nothing to lose and having lost everything

I know your madness I know your modesty
I know that we look alike like brother and sister
I know your smell, I know your perfume
I know you by heart and I do not know anything nomore

About you my love whom I do not love anymore
without succeeding to finally feel free
Alike to a dancer who would lose balance
Like a prince into disgrace, like a fallen angel.

Here’ s a song written by Georges Moustaki that I used to sing and  play on my guitar when I was very young, to open the heart of beautiful girls during the sunset at the beaches of Cote D’Azure.

Georges Moustaki
Le métèque
With my face of a foreigner
Of a wandering Jew, of a Greek shepherd
And my hair to the four winds
With my eyes totally waterlogged
That give me a look of a dreamer
That never dreams very often
With my hands of a petty thief
Of a musician and of a prowler
Who has been caught in so many gardens
With my mouth that drank
that kissed and bit
without ever satisfying its hunger
With my face of a foreigner
Of a wandering Jew, of a Greek shepherd
Of a petty thief and of a vagrant
With my skin that rubbed
With the sun of all the summers
and with everyone who wore underskirt
With my heart that knew how to make
Suffering a lot whom has suffered
Without making stories for that
With my soul that no longer has
the least chance for salvation
To avoid the purgatory
With my face of a foreigner
Of a wandering Jew, of a Greek shepherd
And my hair to the four winds
I will come, my sweet captive
My soul mate, my living source
I will come to drink your twenty years old
And I'll become the prince of blood
A dreamer or even a teenager
As you will like to choose
And we will make of everyday
all the eternity of love
that we will live till we die
and we will make of everyday
all the eternity of love
that we will live till we die

When I’m feeling lonely sometimes, I listen to this beautiful song written by Georges Moustaki as well.

My loneliness

Because of having slept so much
with my loneliness
I almost made it my friend
a sweet custom

She doesn’t deviates from my side

Faithful like a shadow

She followed me here and there

at the four corners of the world

No I’m never alone

with my loneliness

When she’s in the middle of my bed

She takes all the place

And we spend long nights together

Both of us, face to face

I really don’t know how far

this accomplice will go

Will i have to take a fancy on it

Or will I have to react?

No I’m never alone

with my lonelines

Because of her, I learned as much

as I cried tears

If sometimes I deny her

She never desarms me

And If I would prefer love

from another courtisane

She will be on my last day,

My last companion

No I’m never alone

with my loneliness

No I’m never alone

with my loneliness

Here’ s another giant of French chanson, Gilbert Becaud. This one of his most famous songs I want to dedicate
to a girl friend from Russia, Nathalia Bourian. She doesn’t talk with me anymore since a long time because she has a new jealous boy friend now.

Nathalie

the Red Square was hollow (empty)

in front of me was Nathalie walking

she has a beautiful name, my guide

nathalie

the red square was white

snow mades a carpet

and i continued in this cold sunday

nathalie

she spoke with modests senteces

about october’s revolution

i alreday thought

that after Lenin fall

we would go to Pouchkine caffee

to drink a chocolate

the red square was empty

i have taken her arm, she has smiled to me

my guide had blonde hair

nathalie, nathalie

at the university room

a group of students

was waiting for her impatiently

we have laughted, we have talked a lot

thay wanted to know everything

nathalie translated

moscow, thw fields of ukraine

and the champs elisees

we haev mixed everything

and we have singed

and after they have unkorked ( a bottle i suppose)

we have laughed first

about french champagne (not sure about this)

and we have danced

and when the room was empty

all the freinds were gone

i have stayed alone with my guide

nathalie

no more modest sentences

no more october’s revolution

we werent there anymore

finished lenin’s grave

the chocolate at Pouchkine

that, that was far away now

my life seems empty to me

but i know that someday at paris

i will be her guide

The bonus  track of today is a very special track, performed by Gilbert Becaud in German language.

I wish you a stylish Wednesday and come back very soon with the next story.

BACKSTAGE 20180807 “Madonna, the most beautiful songs and discography.”

Dear music & fashion lovers,

U wish you a not too hot Tuesday summer morning!

Icon, mother, cover girl. As well as the undisputed queen of world music for over three decades. A few days after her 60th birthday (it’s August 16th), Madonna gives her a new cover on Vogue Italia and an exclusive interview , where she tells about a new life in Portugal with her children, of the Raising Malawi foundation and an album in output by the end of the year. Which, of course, has already made fans crazy on any social network.

Nothing strange, certainly, for one that dominates the entertainment industry since the eighties, including dance, cinema, fashion and, of course, music. After 13 albums (the last one is Rebel Heart of 2015) Miss Ciccone has not lost the energy, nor the passion . Rather. Continue to write, sing, produce. And she has no intention of leaving his superstar scepter. After all, we’re talking about Madonna, are not we? Here, in fact.

We, like everyone, can not wait to listen to the highly anticipated record coming, but, waiting, we have selected some of the most beautiful songs from a rich discography . To celebrate it, but also to remind the world how much we owe it (starting with Holiday , passing through Material Girl and True Blue , to get to Vogue , Music and Hung Up ). By the way: thank you for every song, Madonna.

And here’s a special bonus track today! This song from 1976 explains without any additional words why I write this blog every day in the very early morning. And it explains as well, why you follow up.

I wish you a happy Tuesday and come back very soon with the next fashion & music story.

BACKSTAGE 20180806 “Happy Birthday, Mick Jagger: 75 years of rock and unforgettable looks.”

Dear fashion & music lovers,

I wish you a beautiful Monday morning and a successful start into a new week!

You would never look at it, but Mick Jagger turned 75 on 26 July. Three quarters of a century of rock history and beautiful wrinkles. Sir Michael Philip Jagger, from Dartford, Kent County, UK, continues to give us music and style lessons. Few indeed know how to deal with him as he grows older: maintaining a dry boyish physique and a unique grace, even in his marked face. Today looking at him you can still see the boy with a disturbing, provocative beauty, often half-naked in the prime of the years.

Past (almost) unharmed through a life of excesses and marriages (failed), Mick celebrated his last birthday with some of his eight children. Georgia May , born in 1992, has posted on her Instagram profile a forum to remember the day, accompanied by a declaration of love. “Happy Birthday Dada! We love you “.

Jagger was married to Bianca Pérez, with Jerry Hall and then was linked to L’Wren Scott. He had 8 children: Karis (with singer Marsha Hunt, 1970); Jade (with his first wife Bianca Jagger, 1971); Elizabeth (1984), James (1985), Georgia (1992) and Gabriel (1997) (with second wife Jerry Hall); Lucas (with model Luciana Gimenez, in 1999). He has 5 grandchildren and on 19 May 2014 he became a nerd: his niece Assisi, daughter of Jade, gave birth to a girl named Ezra Key. On December 8, 2016 he became a father for the eighth time at the age of 73, when his girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, gave birth to a child named Deveroux.

In the early 70ies Jagger supported a young talented singer, and she became famous as the legendary and unforgettable “Melanie.”

I want to dedicate her version of Jagger’s “Ruby Tuesday” 1971 to him today and wish him another 75 years of Rock & Roll!

And here’s the bonus track of today.

Maroon 5 – Moves Like Jagger ft. Christina Aguilera.

I wish you a happy Monday and come back very soon with a new story.

BACKSTAGE 20180805 “Drake’s In My Feelings ranks #1 – Top 10 Songs Of The Week ( Billboard Hot 100, August 4th 2018 )

Dear fashion & music friends,

I wish you a beautiful Sunday morning!

Let’s have a look today at “Billboard’s Hot 100” of last week.
Here’re the Top 10 Songs of the week. Drake’ s “In My Feelings” ranks #1.

The “In My Feelings” video Is all about (you guessed it) the In My Feelings Challenge.

The Karena Davis-directed video is a hilarious and meta homage to the viral #InMyFeelingsChallenge started by comedian Shiggy.

Still have “In My Feelings” stuck in your head? Well, the song of the summer is not going anywhere. Drake dropped his latest video production on Thursday night for the undeniable hit of his new album Scorpion.

No stranger to celebrity cameos—“I’m Upset” featured the rapper’s former Degrassi castmates and “Nice for What” showcased everyone from Misty Copeland to Tiffany Haddish—Drake’s new video includes La La Anthony as the infamous Keke; th-tiffany-haddishShiggy (the creator of the eponymous challenge, which usually involves the subject hopping out of a moving vehicle to dance to Drake’s first verse, prompting a tweet from the National Transportation Safety Board); and Big Freedia. The 8-minute-long video, set in New Orleans, is worth watching until the very end thanks to cameos by Queer Eye’s Fab Five, Stranger Things’s Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp, and Will Smith.

And here’s the bonus track of today:

“FEFE” – 6ix9ine ft. Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz, #4 of the week.

I wish you a hot and sunny summer Sunday! I’ll be back very soon with the next story

BACKSTAGE 20180804 “Who’s the Biggest Pop Star Right Now Without a Hot 100 No. 1 Hit? (2018 Edition) – Part 1”

Dear music lovers,

I wish you a very sunny and relaxed Saturday mornin!
A hot summer weekend started.

One reason more to supply you with a hot summer story today.

As announced on Billboard already on Monday, April 30th, the Billboard Hot 100 chart welcomes four new entries into its top 10: Ariana Grande debuts at No. 3 with her new single “No Tears Left to Cry,” while J. Cole notches an unprecedented trio of top-tier bows with “ATM” (No. 6), “Kevin’s Heart” (No. 8) and “KOD” (No. 10).

Finally Ariana Grande is the cover star of the July 2018 issue of British Vogue. Photographed by Craig McDean and styled by Kate Phelan with hair by Chris Appleton and make-up by Mark Carrasquillo, Grande wears a Chanel autumn/winter 2018 lace dress with jewelled straps for her newVogue debut.

Inside the issue, the popstar and social-media titan shares details of her difficult and transformative past year with Vogue’s Giles Hattersley, including how she coped with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder in the wake of the Manchester bombing. “It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss. But, yeah, it’s a real thing,” she says. “I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well. Time is the biggest thing. I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.”

At home in her curiously decorated mansion in Beverly Hills, she goes on to give Vogue a preview of her fourth album, Sweetener. “I think a lot of people have anxiety, especially right now,” she says, as a pounding song concludes. How is your anxiety, Hattersley asks? “My anxiety has anxiety… I’ve always had anxiety. I’ve never really spoken about it because I thought everyone had it, but when I got home from tour it was the most severe I think it’s ever been.” She was back in the studio the day after finishing her concert commitments in Asia, South America and Australia in September 2017, a decision, that is, she explains, down to being a workaholic. “Everybody thought I was crazy when I got home and wanted to hit the ground running.”

And here’s her new hit ft. Nicki Minaj.

Is she the favorite of our “BACKSTAGE” competition?

Find out more in my next story!

And here’ s the bonus track of today featuring another favorite.

I wish you a  hot summer Saturday, please stay connected!

BACKSTAGE 20180802 “Selena Gomez’s Favorite Denim Hack Is Perfect for Summer.”

Dear music lovers,

I wish you a sunny Thursday morning!

Today’s story’s about one of my favorite female vocal artist and actress of present, Selena Gomez, and her fashion tip for this summer, published in “Vogue”, July 30th 2018.

When Selena Gomez loves a trend, she goes all in—especially when it comes to denim. Though the pop star’s wardrobe is filled with a variety of shades and washes, one cut has emerged as her favorite: the step hem. An early adopter of the look—short in the front, long in the back—Gomez has been spotted wearing it countless times this summer. Whether paired with blouses, over sized sweatshirts, or lacy tanks, the style has allowed Gomez to make even her simplest looks visually interesting.

Yesterday morning in Santa Monica, Gomez demonstrated that by pairing a vintage-inspired AC/DC T-shirt from Brandy Melville with 7 For All Mankind’s Josefina high-waisted jeans and a pair of Balenciaga’s square toe ankle boots. The combination merged several of Gomez’s current obsessions—concert tees, Jennifer Fisher hoops, and luxurious heels—into a cohesive look.

While Gomez’s preferred denim tends to come from premium brands like 7, McGuire, and Re/Done, you don’t have to splurge to get the same effect. A pair of scissors and a little know-how are all that’s required to update an old pair of jeans. It’s a hack worth testing out this summer—and thanks to its built-in boot-friendliness, it will be equally versatile come fall.

Whenever your ready come and get your Denim Look.

Selena Gomez vs. her long term lover Justin Bieber. Who’s better?

Ten guys Selena Gomez has dated. If you want to be 11th, put your old blue jeans on!

Here’s a clip of FashionTV, the biggest TV and OTT network in the world dedicated to fashion & lifestyle,
featuring Selena Gomez in a fashion photo shoot with star photographer Bay Garnett in London.

Here’s a very brave video considering how sex in the US is still a taboo topic compared to Europe.
However not so much Denim covers her skin in this  encouraged video. Maybe an alternative trend for this hot summer?

And here’s the bonus track of today, Selena Gomez’s long term lover Justin Bieber featured in a brand new video
of DJ Khaled released end of July 2018. After “U2” produced by David Guetta ft. Justin Bieber and in their new video gorgeous “Victoria’s Secret Angels” it bacam a real trend in the DJ business to record with Justin.

I wish you a happy Thursday and come back soon with the next story about fashion & music.

Osbourne’s regular use of alcohol and other drugs led to his dismissal from the band “Black Sabbath” in 1979. He was replaced by former Rainbow vocalist Ronnie James Dio. He is credited with popularizing the “metal horns” hand gesture in metal culture and was known for his medieval-themed lyrics.
